First Communion is a very special day for families. Here at Party Glitters, party supply store in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island, we came up with a few tips and ideas for your celebration.
When it comes to colors for the first communion celebration, we reccomend a two-color style with an additional accent color. A good example is pink and white with silver accents throughout. Matching food with the party colors when possible creates a beautiful result that can be easily achieved. Cross and angel cake pops could be done in the party colors and mounted on paper straws. At Party Glitters, we have a large celection of communion themed baking supllies and chocolate molds.
A great idea is to get a table cloth that matches a main theme color. Those, and other party supplies such as plates and napkins could be found at our locations.
Balloons and streamers are an affordable way to add extra beauty to your party. A wall could be accented with balloons clustered together in sets of four and color streamers twisted in parallel sets along hanging from the balloon wall banner.
Chair covers and bows are one of the great ways to turn the seating area into a dining experience! Take an extra couple of minutes to make sure the backs of your chairs are evenly aligned for that extra touch of visual perfection!
Fancy up your table centers with a personal touch of DIY and practical gifts. Flowers colud be made with wooden dowels, with ribbon wrapped around them. The dowels cold be then inserted into white styrofoam balls. Pre-framed pictures of the First Communion child will also be a hit with guests!

Easter 2017 is fast approaching and here at Party Glitters locations in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island we have all the necessary baking supplies you need to make your Easter party unforgetable. As you know, we have a large selection of Easter chocolate molds. Here are a few helpful tips on how to make you chocolate lollipop using Easter molds in our store.
1. The Chocolate:
We reccomend using confectionery coating. It contains vegetable fat rather than cocoa butter, which makes it much more stable. Confectionery coating is great to use when you’re making candies with kids. It also comes in a variety of colors and flavors.
2. Candy Equipment:
Here is where we come in. Check a wide variety of molds on our website or visit our locations in Brooklyn, Queens and Hauppauge.
3. Chocolate lollipops:
Remember to buy lollipop sticks. You can visit our locations in New York to find a large selection of baking supplies.
4. Filling the Molds
Fill each mold slowly with a squeeze bottle, spoon, or by pouring chocolate from a measuring cup. Using your palette knife or spatula, scrape off any excess chocolate into a clean bowl; it can be gently warmed and reused. Once the back of the mold is smooth and even, gently tap the tray of chocolates on the countertop to pop any air bubbles. If you’re making lollipops, insert the sticks, twisting gently so that they’re completely coated with chocolate. To make the chocolate harden quickly, put it in the freezer for a few minutes. Once the chocolate is firm enough to come out of the mold, invert the entire mold onto a clean towel and twist very gently to release the chocolates.
5. How to Melt Chocolate
When melting chocolate or confectionery coating, there are a couple of things to remember. Don’t let water or other liquid come in contact with it, or it will seize. Don’t allow it to get too hot, as excess heat will both cause the chocolate to separate, rendering it unusable. You can check the temperature of the chocolate by dabbing a small amount of it on your lip or the inside of your wrist. It should feel warm, not hot. Coating chocolate and some brands of couverture come in small discs for easy melting. There is a very easy way to melt chocolate in a microwave. Place it in a microwave-safe bowl and zap it on high power at 10-second intervals, stirring each time, just until it’s completely melted.
We hope you enjoy our chocolate candy making tips. Please visit our locations in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island for all you party supplies.
St. Patrick's Day 2017 in Queens, Brooklyn and Long Island, NY is a great occasion to have a party for the whole family. Here is a great recipe for shamrocks chocolate marshmallow lollipops that could be made with chocolate molds available at our stores and online.Share the luck of the Irish on this St. Patrick’s Day by making these chocolate shamrock marshmallow pops for classmates, friends and coworkers.
You will need the following ingridients:
- Dark chocolate merckens melting wafers
- Miniature marshmallows
- Green food coloring
- St. Patrick's Day Clover Mold
Preparation:
Microwave chocolate melting wafers in 30 second intervals, stirring until smooth in microwaveble safe bowl.Spread a generous layer of chocolate in each cavity of shamrock molds making sure to coat sides well. Dip the end of your lollipop stick or paper straws in chocolate and place into cavity so that 3/4 of the shamrock contains the end of the stick.
While the chocolate is setting, microwave miniature marshmallows in a separate microwave safe bowl in ten second increments. Add a few drops of green food coloring and stir until smooth.
Working quickly, as the marshmallow will set fast, transfer marshmallow to a plastic piping bag. Cut off the tip and pipe marshmallow into the center of each cavity until they are approximately 2/3 full.
CAUTION: melted marshmallow gets hot - wrap a dishtowel around piping bag if necessary. Piping bag can be re-heated in 5 second intervals if marshmallow starts to set.
Cover marshmallow and completely fill each cavity with remaining melted chocolate, reheating as needed.
Gently tap mold on flat surface to release any bubbles and allow chocolate to settle.
Allow to harden completely either at room temperature or in the refrigerator before carefully un-molding.

Let your guests know that the love bug is on the loose with fun Valentine's Day party invites!
The way that you decorate for your party will obviously depend hugely on who the party is for.
For a Kid's Valentines Day Party:
Decorate it with heart shaped balloons from our stores in Brooklyn, Queens and Hauppauge. Also you can try the following game for kids.
Head over Heels:
You will need two bowls of Valentine candies (conversation hearts work good for this), four paper cups, and two handheld mirrors for this game. The kids, two at a time, will hold a paper cup on top of their heads. They will use the other cup to scoop candies out of the bowl, and try to pour them into the cup on top of their heads, using the mirror as a guide (someone will need to hold the mirrors for them). The goal is to see who can get the most candy into the cup on their head. This is much harder than it looks, and the kids love it! We did this at a party for my daughter and the kids didn't want to stop!
For an Adult's Valentines Day Party:
Keep the lights dim and hang clear white Christmas lights or heart string lights. Create your own pictionary game by coming up with some Valentine or love-related things for the guests to draw and try to guess.
Add some sweet treats to your list of Valentines Day party ideas and your party will be complete. Head to our stores for large selection of chocolate lollipop molds.

Here a few tips to make your 2016 Christmas Party truly unforgetable from Party Glitters with locations in Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island.
A memorable Christmas party does not have to be all red, green and white and not all menus have to involve a roast and holiday cookies. Creativity and thinking outside of the conventional holiday party box will ensure that guests won’t grow tired of the same old thing. Here are some creative tips to ensure that your Christmas party will be the talk of the season.
You can try an unconventional approach and host a party inspired by the television show “Stranger Things.” Holiday-appropriate Christmas tree lights could be haphazardly wrapped over pieces of furniture or across the living room wall. Create an Eggo waffle bar where guests can add their own toppings. Visit Party Glitters for all necessary party supplies and decorations
For the traditionalists who still want to maintain the holiday spirit, host a cookie party. Encourage guests to think outside the box and have them whip up a batch of gingersnaps, lady fingers or toffee cookies. For those who enjoy a little friendly competition, turn it into a cookie judging contest with prizes awarded to the "most creative" or the "best traditional cookie."
For 2016, do away with the red and green and upgrade a holiday cocktail party. Use decorations that only come in white and gold for a decidedly adult soiree.
In addition, fun Christmas games never go out of style. Pick up a bunch of Christmas Crackers for guests to enjoy. Finally, everyone loves a good White Elephant party. Have guests bring the tackiest gifts they have ever received and have them all exchange tacky presents.
